So I started this series back in April with the intentions of getting myself (and my family) healthier. I’ve missed a few weeks but I’m ready to share another tip with you all:
Did you know that telling others your goal is one of the best ways to achieve it? This is because it creates accountability and encourages you to work hard!
I am creating some accountability in my goal of being healthier a few different ways:
1. I’m sharing my goal with others. At work, for the duration of the summer we’ve created a summer goal challenge and are encouraged to track our progress every week (for everyone to see!) This keeps me accountable because I don’t want to be the first one to flake out! Oh, and did I mention there is a prize at the end? Added incentive!
2. I’ve recruited a buddy. M and I are currently working on a 30 day plank challenge. This keeps me accountable because I have M encouraging me along and I need to keep going to encourage him!
3. I’ve signed up for a class. Starting this week, I am spending an hour and a half every Thursday at the local gymnastics club taking an adult class (eep!) This keeps me accountable because I don’t want to waste the money I’ve spend on the classes!
If you have any recommendations for a weekly challenge, please let me know! You can use the comments tool below or tweet me @TheELMLife using #healthymomchallenge
