Planning for Thanksgiving: Projects & Menu

Can you believe we are almost a week into October?  How did that happen?!  We have one week until Canadian Thanksgiving and while this normally wouldn’t stress me out, this year we are hosting dinner for M’s family at our place.  Not only do we need to worry about cooking for everyone, we also need to make sure the house is in decent shape.  In addition to cleaning, there are a few organizing projects I want to take care of:

  1. Set up some new shelves in the front entry way which will give us some more storage space (will be handy with the winter gear I need to bring upstairs soon!)
  2. Move the old entry way shelf into the mud room to try and organize that space
  3. Move our kitchen cart and repurpose it as a coffee station
  4. Bring in a shelf I rediscovered in the garage into the kitchen for some extra storage space
  5. Set up some additional book storage in the living room

I have Friday off so I’m planning to be super productive!

As for the Thanksgiving dinner I have scheduled for next Monday?  Here’s the menu:

  • Turkey
  • Stuffing
  • Homemade cranberry sauce
  • Dinner rolls
  • Cream cheese mashed potatoes
  • Brown sugar yams
  • Lemon garlic green beans
  • Honey balsamic carrots

Yum!  Hopefully it tastes as good as it sounds 🙂
